Manager Marty’s last day

Friends and Customers,
This is my last day working at Riverview Self Storage and I would like to thank all of Riverview’s customers who have become more than just great customers but good friends. Thank you for making my job so much easier over the last 8 years. Its been an amazing journey but unforeseen circumstances have allowed me to move on. It’s always hard to say goodbye to a job you love but new chapters in life are sometimes full of growth and inspiration. Thanks for all the years. Walter Bytnar our main manager at Riverview will continue with his great service toward you. Blessings Marty

Riverview Renting… Questions Answered.

Q. Is there a difference between the way Riverview does storage?

Yes and No. The main difference is our customer service. We want to grow with our customers. The first thing you may notice is how friendly and nice our staff is. Secondly after you have been here a while you may notice how your rates never change. You may notice how clean our facility is compared to others or how our hallways are wider and well lit. The biggest difference is how Riverview gives back to the community. Riverview is owned by an Inner City Chicago Mission helping the homeless, less fortunate from families to senior citizens. To see some of the programs you help just by storing with Riverview check out Cornerstone Community Outreach at: http://www.ccolife.org/.

Q. How does  self storage work at Riverview?

Riverview self storage provides renters with individual self storage space. Riverview differs from warehousing in that the owner of the goods keeps control over their goods after they have placed the goods into self storage.
You keep control over your lock wither it be key or combo lock. Locks are available for around 5.00 to 8.00 dollars or you can bring your own lock.

We give you a personal numeric number to enter in the gated area. We have an indoor heated loading dock to park your truck or car in. you may use the dock or ramp to bring your valuables to your unit. For extra security we are here when you are here. So our office hours are the only times you may enter the facility unless you have the 24 hr outdoor drive-up units. Riverview is open 7 days a week M-F 9am-6pm and Sat & Sun 8am-4pm.

Q. How long do I have to sign up at Riverview?

Riverview self storage works on month-to-month rentals. If you want to start out by paying 2 months up front we will give you a FREE month.
At Riverview  you may also get year lease storage for an over all cheaper rate free months are not available with the cheaper year lease rate.
Notice is required 10 days in advance upon move out if you want your money back for the unused portion of the month.

Q. What type of paperwork do I need to rent a self storage unit?  How do I pay?

A valid driver’s license with a picture is typically all that is required to lease a  self storage unit. You receive a contract to sign and a copy to keep. Insurance is available but you do not have to purchase it. Sometimes your Homeowners Insurance may cover it. For payment you can be put on auto-pay with your MC, VISA or AMEX Card, send a check for a payment or just call us when your payment is due. You can also pay Cash or Money Order. Payment is Always on the first of the month no matter what day you get your unit.

Q. What type of security should I expect at Riverview Self Storage facilities?

Riverview self storage facilities feature electronic gate with coded access, monitored video surveillance, fenced, well-lit facilities and  alarms. We are on the grounds monitoring the front when our office is open, the only time individuals are allowed in their units.  M-F 9am-6pm Sat-Sun 8am-4pm.

Q. What is the difference between an indoor and an outdoor unit at Riverview self storage?

A  outdoor unit has access from outside and has a gate with a numeric password. Outdoor units are 24 hour access. You can drive right up to these and they are water and condensation proof.
A  indoor unit is within a building and will require you to go inside to access your unit. Most climate control self storage units are considered indoor units. These are only accessible during business hours.

Q. What is climate control Chicago self storage?

Climate control Chicago self storage units maintain a temperature of 55 to 85 degrees. The climate control storage feature helps protect your belongings in Chicago self storage. Riverview has a variety of options to choose from. Outdoor 24 hour drive up access units, Indoor heated units with great ventilation to keep cool in the summer, or HVAC units that stay at 69 to 73 degrees F.  I have been told by our clients that we keep it warmer in the winter than most other Chicago facilities. I have to agree.

Q. Does Riverview Self Storage offer services for both the household and business customer?

Yes. We offer UPS Pick Up, FEDEX Pick Up US Postal Pick Up. As well as a Large indoor loading dock large enough for Semi-Trucks. We provide many dollies and carts for all kinds of furniture, mattresses, appliances and boxes available for your move in.

Going The Extra Mile

strive 4 more from manifestmedia on Vimeo.

Going the extra mile to help the homeless of Chicago is a mission and may be a difficult one but one man decided to try and do something about it by Running! A LOT! Riverview Self Storage has a friend who not only has storage with us but helps Cornerstone Community Outreach every year by running  about 236 miles in just 8 days! Check out more at : www.strive4more.com

When is enough enough?

Many of us are already overstressed, working hard, with full plates. But, still, we ask ourselves–can I do more?

Paddy runs marathons, but decided to push himself to go the distance. One afternoon while running home from work he realized he wanted his running to mean something besides just fitness. It was then Paddy decided he would run from Cornerstone Community Outreach (CCO) to the grounds of Cornerstone Festival, where he volunteers each year. The distance is about 236 miles, which works out to just over 9 marathons. It became “Cornerstone to Cornerstone” or 8 ultra marathons in 8 days. This is Paddy’s 2nd year running for CCO.

Paddy McCormack is going the extra mile—are you?

We would like to inspire you to challenge yourself, not just in running or health, but in considering the thousands of men, women, and children homeless in Chicago.

How you can help.

–In Iraq a base is stepping it up a notch by running a 100K relay to benefit CCO in Chicago.

–A school is raising awareness AND helping its students toward health goals by training    to run 30 miles (accumulated mileage for the kids!)

–They have sponsors pledging hotel rooms and food along the route

You can help!

Donate/Participate at strive4more.com.

We are looking for sponsors that are interested in partnering with this year’s event. Paddy is asking friends and family and other contacts to make pledges per mile.  We are pursuing a motel franchises to see if they will sponsor the accommodations for the run, and also a company to provide water and other beverages.  This is all new to us.

Paddy’s run is just one way to Strive4More that is impacting the plight of the homeless. The ideas are innumerable. Strive4More wants to hear form you. If you are inspired to Strive4More let them know.

Click Contact. Let strive4more know if you have an idea, they would love to post updates to this list. To contact them directly, call 773-413-0226.

Check out the route maps at strive4more.com—are you along the way?

Thanks- Marty at Riverview
